FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — If you thought you saw a bear in northwest Fresno on Thursday, you weren’t going crazy.
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife confirmed the bear was in the area of North Ila Avenue.
Officials have called off the search since they believe it went to the closest river near Herndon and West.
It’s uncommon to see bears in the area, but officials say there’s been an overall increase in bear activity in the last five years.
Anyone who sees the bear should immediately call the Department of Fish and Wildlife: (559) 243-4005.
