FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — The Tumey Fire has grown to 1,600 acres and is 85% contained, according to CAL FIRE.
The forward progress of the fire has stopped.
Crews will remain at the scene overnight as they work to further contain the fire.
The Tumey Fire started around 2:02 p.m. on Sunday, west of Interstate 5 and south of Panoche Road in western Fresno County.
The Tumey Gun Range was evacuated by the Fresno Sheriff’s Department and the Tumey Recreational Area is still closed.
I-5 is open to travelers.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The forward progress of the fire has stopped. However, the following zones are under an evacuation warning:

- P7
- P31
Crews will remain at the scene overnight as they work to further contain the fire.
