FRESNO, CA (KMJ) A former manager at the Fresno Arts Council has pleaded guilty to stealing nearly $2 million dollars in taxpayer funds.

Federal prosecutors say Suliana Caldwell diverted $1.82 million in Measure P money—funds meant for Fresno parks and arts programs—into her own accounts. Investigators say she made more than 300 unauthorized wire transfers while overseeing council finances.
Investigators say she spent the stolen loot on gambling and vacations.
Caldwell now faces up to 20 years in federal prison, fines, and full restitution. Sentencing is set for August 10th.
