(KMJ) The next California gubernatorial debate is Wednesday evening in San Francisco, but three notable candidates will not be there.
California schools chief Tony Thurmond, Former LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and ex-state Controller Betty Yee aren’t invited. None of them cracked the 5% polling requirement to attend.
Shortly after this announcement was made Yee suspended her campaign.
Candidates who have met the polling threshold and are expected to participate include: Chad Bianco (R), Steve Hilton (R), Xavier Becarra (D), Matt Mahan (D), Katie Porter (D), and Tom Steyer (D).
The debate will air on News Nation (and various local Nextstar affiliates across California) at 7PM Wednesday, April 22.
