FRESNO, CA (KMJ) Bradley Nicholson was sentenced to 28 years to life in prison on Thursday.
The 41-year old pleaded no contest to attempted murder of a police officer and assault on a peace officer after opening fire on two Fresno Police officers in December of 2025.
Prosecutors say the officers approached Nicholson in an alley in west Fresno because he was acting suspicious and a scuffle ensued.
That’s when shots were fired and Nicholson barricaded himself in a carport.
Nicholson, who has a long history of criminal activity, eventually surrendered after suffering a bullet graze wound to his face.
The officers were not hurt, but one of the bullets went through the top of an officer’s ball cap.
Nicholson has prior convictions for auto theft, burglary, drug possession and identity theft.
