(KMJ) – Selma Police are asking the public’s help in a cold case, to find suspect(s) and a vehicle in the homicide of a 15 year-old girl.
On August 31st, 2017, officers with the Selma Police Department responded to reports of gunfire on the 1400 block of Mill Street (near Olive St.) in the City of Selma.
Upon arrival, officers located 15-year-old Desiree Austin suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Detectives believe the vehicle pictured was involved in this homicide. It is a blue 2002 Buick Rendezvous with a California license plate of 7EDR747.
Witnesses described the driver as a Hispanic woman with her hair styled in a messy bun. A man is also believed to have been with her in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
Investigators need your help to identify those two people and also to find the Buick vehicle.
Investigators believe the firearm used in this case may be linked to a separate shooting in the County of Fresno.
Detectives continue to actively pursue all leads and are requesting the public’s assistance in advancing this investigation.
