FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — The race for Governor of California kicks into overdrive Wednesday with two candidate forums taking place in Fresno.
The Western Growers Association and 30 farm groups hosted the first forum at Fresno State.
The candidates participating were Republicans Steve Hilton and Chad Bianco and four Democrats: Xavier Becerra, Katie Porter, Matt Mahan and Antonio Villaraigosa.
The moderators for the debate were former North Valley Assemblymember Kristin Olsen-Cate and Fresno County Supervisor Buddy Mendes.
The forum focused on “Affordability and Rural California.”
The second gubernatorial forum will take place at 5:30 Wednesday night at Fresno City College.
The debate will focus on issues ranging from job creation, immigration and agriculture.
