MADERA, Calif. (KFSN) — The man who was killed in a suspected DUI crash in Madera County has been identified as 48-year-old Steven Munoz Jr.
The California Highway Patrol says it happened Monday night at the intersection of Avenue 17 and Daley Road.
Officers say Munoz Jr. was driving a GMC SUV when he hit a Ford sedan. For some reason, the driver of the Ford left the car and ran away from the scene.
Munoz Jr. then lost control while going north on Daley, causing the car to flip.
He was thrown from the vehicle and declared dead at the scene.
Officers say multiple beer cans were found inside Munoz’s vehicle.
