FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after stealing his parents’ vehicle and crashing it into the Macy’s in Fashion Fair Mall on Thursday.
Fresno Police say that a call came just after 8:00 a.m. about a vehicle slamming into the Macy’s Men’s store entrance off Fresno Street and Santa Ana Avenue.
When officers arrived, they discovered that the teen had entered the store with his vehicle, backed out, and then drove off.
The officer found the suspect a short distance away, still inside the vehicle and was arrested.
Action News was on the scene when the teen was loaded into an ambulance.
He has since been booked into juvenile hall and charged with auto theft and felony vandalism.
Macy’s was closed at the time of the crash. Only employees were in the store.
No one else was injured.
