Tulare Co. (KMJ) Oscar Zavala will live the remainder of his life behind bars.
On Tuesday, the 29 year old Porterville man was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the 2023 murder of a rival gang member.
Tulare County prosecutors say Zavala shot and killed the victim at a Porterville motel.
Surveillance footage showed Zavala approach the victim and fire a single shot. The victim’s body was discovered the next morning in a secluded area of the motel where he had collapsed.
