TRAVER, Calif. (KFSN) — Southbound Highway 99 was shut down due to a fatal traffic collision near Traver, Friday afternoon.
California Highway Patrol was called just before 2:00 p.m. to the southbound Merritt Drive onramp after a vehicle was hit and went up an embankment.
The vehicle caught fire.
Black smoke can be seen from the area.
Officers confirm one person died at the scene.
