FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Governor Gavin Newsom’s office has received a pardon application for Fresno restaurant “Pismo’s” manager, Psalm Behpoor.
Action News spoke with one of Behpoor’s friends, Kash Amin, who says Behpoor has been at the ICE detention facility in Bakersfield for more than 100 days.
Behpoor was three years old when he arrived in the United States from Iran.
He later served time for non-aggravated burglary when he was 18 years old, over 20 years ago.
He received calls back in June from ICE asking him for an in-person interview.
About an hour after the meeting, he was detained.
There is still no word on when Behpoor could be released.
