FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — A new service center for electric vehicles in the Valley is now open.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Friday morning at the Rivian facility on Selland near Marty in northwest Fresno.
The center services Rivian vehicles and offers roadside assistance and collision repair.
It’s a business that Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer says is important for the Central Valley, helping the region grow in the area of clean energy technology.
“We are very excited about being able to expand the sustainable transportation infrastructure across our region here in Fresno,” Dyer said.
This new service center is the only one in the Central Valley, with the other closest shops being in San Jose or Burbank.
This facility is bringing about 15 jobs to the area but Mayor Dyer says it will ultimately create about 100 jobs across the support supply chain.
This Rivian Service Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
