Rose Ortega, a Fresno native, began her career as a nightclub DJ before transitioning to broadcasting in 1982. She’s worked at various radio stations in Fresno, Bakersfield, and Miami, FL.
Rose co-hosted mornings on KSOF for a decade. In 2012, she moved to country music radio, serving as midday host at KJUG. Rose retired in 2022 to spend more time with family but the lure of KMJ was too strong. Citing her ongoing passion for radio and the need to fund regular trips to visit family in Florida, Rose joined the KMJ team in 2025.
