VISALIA, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — Multiple people are displaced after a fire broke out at three Visalia homes Friday morning.

The flames broke out just after 8 am at a home on South West Street near Walnut Avenue.

The fire started inside one of the homes and spread to the others.

Three homes were damaged in all, and one was a total loss.

The fire left a path of destruction, charring the roof and leveling walls.

Officials say that 10 people are displaced.

Two people were hospitalized, but officials say they were not directly linked to the fire itself.

Fire crews are beginning to remove burned debris from inside the house where the fire started.

It was all hands on deck for the Visalia Fire Department.

All available crews were at the scene, so other agencies stepped in to help cover their stations.

After the flames were out, firefighters removed debris from inside the main house.

KMJ’s News Partner ABC 30 Action News cameras captured materials to grow marijuana in the front lawn, including large, burned marijuana plants and what looks like grow lights.

Officials tell Action News the investigation remains underway, and the cause of the fire is still unknown.

While it’s now extinguished, this fire emergency will have a lasting effect on the community.
