CHP K9 Busts Driver Hauling 20lbs of Cocaine

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) Good dog!

A CHP K-9 officer sniffed out a large haul of cocaine recently.

On February 28, the CHP stopped a truck for a traffic violation on I-5 in Merced County. Sensing something was amiss, the officer deployed K-9 “Shei” who found 20 pounds of coke hidden in a secret compartment in the vehicle.

The driver, James Churn of Portland, Oregon was arrested.

The drugs are said to have a street value of $720,000.

The case has been turned over to the Merced Area Gang Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET)
