Woman Arrested After Man Killed Outside Northwest Fresno Bar, Police Say

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — A suspect has been arrested for a shooting that left a man dead in northwest Fresno over the weekend.

Fresno police announced Friday that 26-year-old Domonique Jones has been arrested for the death of 38-year-old Gilberto Gutierrez.

The shooting happened just before 2 am on Sunday outside Ewell’s Place on the northwest corner of Shaw and Marks.

Officials say the suspect and Gutierrez was trying to defuse an argument between his friend and another group leading up to the shooting.

When the argument turned physical, police say Jones pulled out a gun and shot Gutierrez,

Gutierrez was found with a gunshot wound in the parking lot and taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Jones was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail on one count of murder.
