DA Dismayed as Repeat Kidnapper, Carjacker Paroled

KERN COUNTY, CA (KMJ) Kern County District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer did not hold back Monday when she learned that Hector Silva was granted parole, 8 years before his sentence was complete.

Sliva has several convictions over the years in Tulare and Kern Counties for kidnapping and armed carjackings. But the California Board of Parole no longer considers him a threat to society and has ok’d his release from custody.

“Hearing after hearing, we fight to keep criminals behind bars – especially those who have yet to serve the entirety of their sentence. Early release laws make it difficult to succeed in some cases, Zimmer said in a press release (below).
