MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — A person has died after a house fire broke out overnight in Merced County.
The flames were first reported just before 2 a.m. Thursday at a farm home on Turner Island Road near Henry Miller Avenue, just east of Los Banos.
When fire crews arrived on scene, they found the home on fire.
The Merced County Sheriff’s office says two people lived in the home, but only one made it out safely.
The victim has not yet been identified.
Investigators are on scene investigating the incident.
