FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — An investigation is underway after one person was shot and killed in southwest Fresno.
Officers responded to Lorena Avenue and South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard Wednesday afternoon.
When officers arrived, they found a man in his mid-20s suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died a short time later.
Police have not identified the victim or possible shooter at this time.
Officers say that a dark-colored vehicle that was possibly involved in the shooting was seen speeding away from the area.
Right now, investigators say it appears the victim was alone at the time of the shooting.
However, it is too early to know what led up to the murder or if the victim and suspect knew each other.
Detectives are looking for surrounding area video and key witnesses.
This is the second homicide of the year in the City of Fresno.
