Red Cross of Central California Opens Another Shelter in Prather, Reedley College will remain Open Tonight

(KMJ) – The Red Cross of Central California says the shelter at Reedley College will remain open tonight, Tuesday, Feb 28, 2023.

Additionally, the Red Cross has just opened a shelter at Foothills Elementary (29147 Auberry Road, Prather, CA 93651) to support Prather, Auberry and Shaver Lake residents without power.

Red Cross Evacuation centers are open across the Central Valley:
☑️ Reedley College Gym (995 N. Reed Avenue, Reedley) – 24/7
☑️ Oakhurst Community Center (39800 Fresno Flats Rd, Oakhurst)
☑️ Mariposa Senior Center (5246 Spriggs Lane, Mariposa)

Red Cross volunteers will provide safe shelter, water, meals, emotional support and additional resources to community members.

Residents are encouraged to bring the following for each member of their family: prescription and other emergency medication, extra clothing, pillows, blankets, hygiene supplies, important documents and other comfort items. Additionally, special items for children and infants, such as diapers, formulas and toys, should be brought along with other items for family members who may have other needs.

Red Cross shelters are open to everyone in need, regardless of race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation or citizenship status.
