FPD Nabs Suspect in Two Shootings

Fresno Police teamed up with the U.S. Marshals Service to arrest a suspect allegedly responsible for two recent shootings.

40-year-old Raul Flores was arrested in the 1500 Block of North Fay Avenue, but not before he attempted to flee from officers and ran into an apartment complex near Balch Avenue and Winery Avenue. Flores was taken into custody without incident with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, Central District Safety Team (DST) officers, Fresno Police K-9, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department helicopter, and the apartment complex management.

Flores was wanted for a shooting Halloween morning on West Cornell Ave. The victim’s vehicle had been hit by multiple shots and the victim is listed in stable condition at CRMC with bullet wound to the abdomen.

Detectives also identified Flores as the suspect in another shooting and robbery in the 2100 block of North Winery Avenue earlier that day.

After the arrest, detectives served a search warrant at Flores’ residence and recovered additional evidence. Flores was booked at Fresno County Jail on several charges related to the related crimes.
