MADERA, Calif. (KMJ/FOX26) — A Valley school district wants its staff to have a better relationship with the students it serves.
Wednesday, Madera Unified School District announced it is rolling out a program called the “Student Champion” course.
The district says many of its students come from diverse backgrounds and tell administrators they want to have a deeper connection with their teachers.
According to the district, the Student Champion course will cover hot-button topics such as racism in schools in hopes that employees can be champions for their students.
