MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KMJ) — A 50-year-old woman is safe tonight, thanks to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office search and rescue crews.

The woman called 911 after suffering a medical emergency at Rainbow Falls. The Sheriff’s Office didn’t specify what type of emergency that was.

Rescue crews had to carry the woman from the trail to an ambulance, then bring her to a hospital.

“We thank search crews for their swift response to provide medical aid to this patient, and appreciate the assistance from our allied agencies. We wish a speedy recovery to the patient,” said Madera County Sheriff Tyson Pogue.

Mammoth Lakes EMS, Devil’s Post Pile Rangers, and the CHP Air Support H-40 all helped with the rescue.
