UPDATE 3:15 p.m. Cal Fire reports: “Forward progress of the fire has been stopped. 500+ vehicles are involved with heavy overhaul needed to mop up all hot spots. Cause of the fire is currently under investigation.”
Fresno, Calif. (KMJ/FOX26) – CalFire along with Fresno County Fire and other departments were called to Fresno Foreign Wrecking for multiple vehicles burning on Thursday.
The yard is located on Golden State Blvd. near Chestnut and North Avenues south of Fresno.
There was a large plume of thick black smoke that could be seen for miles.
More resources were called to the scene.
Firefighters may utilize a canal that has water.
Approximately 40 vehicles were burning and the fire was spreading.
Sanger, Selma and Fresno Fire Departments were assisting.
A bulldozer was also being utilized.
