
(KMJ) – The family of a South Valley woman hopes a new reward prompts someone to come forward with information on the murder of a loved one.
Here are the details, as released by the California Highway Patrol:
April 7, 2020, at approximately 2:13 p.m., the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) personnel located and reported a suspicious object floating in the California Aqueduct, south of Jayne Avenue, in Fresno County. California Highway Patrol (CHP) personnel responded to the scene.
Officers from the CHP Coalinga Area office along with the assistance of DWR personnel, were able to retrieve what was determined to be a deceased person from the water way. The deceased was later identified as Kings County resident Ashley Pearl Marie Padilla. The CHP Central Division Investigative Service Unit responded to the scene and determined the cause of death to be homicide.
The CHP Investigative Service Unit and Valley Crime Stoppers are seeking public assistance with bringing closure to the Padilla Family. Any information submitted which leads to the arrest of the suspect(s) involved in the disappearance and death of Ashley Pearl Marie Padilla will be eligible for a $2,000 reward.
