FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – The Hanford man accused of killing his 30-year-old girlfriend, after she went missing from a Fresno art show, pleads not guilty to her murder in court on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.
41-year-old Ramon Jimenez was last seen with Missy Hernandez on the night of December 7th, 2021 at an art show in Downtown Fresno.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said Jimenez had a previous domestic violence incident at her home and he was charged with her murder on Jan. 11th.

Hernandez was also known as Missy Perez and was the mother of an 11-year-old daughter.
On Jan. 18th, Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims announced their divers had found Missy’s body at the bottom of an aquaduct near Huron.
Hernandez’ body was discovered weighted down near the surface.

Missy Hernandez had been missing 40 days prior to the discovery of her body in the canal in an area near S. Siskiyou and W. Dorris Avenues in Huron.
Sheriff Mims held a press conference to announce the discovery.
Over the course of the month-long investigation, detectives developed an overwhelming amount of forensic and digital evidence. Some of which included DNA indicating a violent act took place at Missy’s home. It was through following this evidence and relentlessly working this case that the Sheriff’s Homicide Unit was able to find Hernandez and deliver answers to her family.
