(KMJ) – A suspect being pursued by Fresno County Sheriff’s Deputies crashes his vehicle and then opens fire on law enforcement on Cedar Avenue, between North Avenue and Highway 99.
Both the Sheriff’s Office and Fresno Police were called to this scene, with Police taking lead in the investigation as this incident took place within City limits.
Fresno Police say the suspect, who has yet to be identified, was killed. But investigators says it is unclear if any member of law enforcement returned fire when the man started shooting around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
That area, including parts of Highway 99, were closed for several hours as part of this investigation.
