(KMJ) – Vice President Kamala Harris makes an appearance Wednesday in the Bay area, campaigning for Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Harris and Newsom appeared in San Leandro at an electrical worker union’s apprentice training center, before she flew back to Washington, DC.

The White House said President Joe Biden is set to campaign for Newsom in California early next week.

Biden carried California in the election by 29 percentage points over then-President Donald Trump.

The last time voters in California recalled a governor was in 2003 when Democratic Gov. Gray Davis was replaced by Republican actor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The recall election is Sept. 14.
