FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A 25-year-old mother is fighting for her life after she was shot in the head Tuesday night.

The Fresno Police Department received the call of a shooting at Kearney Blvd. and Thorne Ave. around 10:45 p.m.

When officers got there they found Jacqueline Flores inside of a parked vehicle suffering from a single gunshot wound to her head.

Flores’s six-year-old daughter was seated in the backseat of the car at the time of the gunshots.

Fortunately, the child was not injured, but a bullet did enter the rear window where the child was seated.

Investigators do not believe that Flores was the intended target, and this senseless act of violence may have been a case of mistaken identity.

The Fresno Police Department is asking for the community’s help and encourages anyone who has information to call (559) 621-7000.
