FRESNO, CA (KMJ)  – The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified a Fresno woman who was killed when her car was rear-ended on Highway 41 on Monday as 42-year-old Brandi Urena.

The California Highway Patrol received a call of a four vehicle accident around noon on Monday.

Officers said the collision took place as Urena was stopped at a red light at Central Avenue.

The CHP said the driver of a white Honda Insight came up from behind at a high rate of speed and rammed into Urena’s black Toyota Yaris, which slammed her car into the back end of a blue Honda Accord.

The CHP said the driver of the Honda also sideswiped the front end of a Chevy in the next lane.

The CHP said Urena suffered major blunt force trauma in the collision.

She was taken to CRMC, where she was pronounced dead.

The California Highway Patrol said the Honda driver was taken to the hospital and may later be charged with manslaughter.

Brandi Urena was a fiancé, sister, mother, and an amazing friend. She will be missed and forever be remembered as someone who would always be there for you. Someone who will go out of her way for other. Someone who loved wholeheartedly. She was a wonderful mother who celebrated her family every chance she got. She was an amazing sister who would always help her family out. She will be missed as the Aunt who always made me shirts, cups with their favorite shows. She was a wonderful person overall and will be greatly missed. She was going to celebrate her birthday on the 25th and was going to get married on the 30th. Now this is all taken away from us. We are completely heart broken. – Melissa Ybarra, Organizer of Urena’s GoFundMe page.
