FRESNO, CA (KMJ) A suspect has been apprehended in Fresno’s 40th homicide of the year.
Fresno PD say officers arrived at the scene of a deadly shooting at an apartment at 4860 E. Lane on Tuesday afternoon.
The victim, 61 year old Randy Harless, was found shot to death in an upstairs apartment.
Homicide detectives identified 30-year-old Climmett Jackson as the person responsible for Harless’ murder. Jackson was found in a nearby apartment, hours after the murder, and taken into custody.
Investigators learned that Harless and Jackson are acquaintances who live in the same apartment complex. An argument ensued near the front door of the victim’s apartment which led to the deadly
shooting.
Jackson was booked at the Fresno County Jail on murder charges. This was the 40th murder of 2021. At this same time last year, Fresno had 19 murders.
