SANGER, CA (KMJ) — The Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation is hosting its Annual Champ Camp now through Friday, June 18, at the Wonder Valley Ranch in Sanger.
According to the foundation, Champ Camp provides a free summer camp experience to children ages 5 through 17 that have suffered from severe burn injuries.
Although capacity is limited due to COVID restrictions, campers are provided love and support within a family-friendly atmosphere, which is to soothe children and focus more on inner beauty. Campers also get to experience the great outdoors with activities like canoeing, archery, fishing, horseback riding, and more.
The Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation was formed in 1971 after 8-year-old Alisa Ann Ruch was fatally injured during a backyard barbecue accident. Her parents, along with local medical professionals and firefighters, formed the foundation to create an awareness of burn prevention.
