A building caught fire near Ashlan Ave. and Fresno St. in Central Fresno.

Firefighters say no one was hurt in the massive commercial structure fire that happened early Friday morning.

At one point in the Fresno Fire helmet cam video, you can hear “Mayday, Mayday, Mayday” called over the radio because an explosion knocked four firefighters down.

Firefighters tell our newspartner FOX26 News that the building was vacant when the fire broke out around 3:30 a.m.

Viewer video captured flames erupting through the roof of the building near a neighborhood.

Firefighters say no homes were impacted by the fire.

They say one family in a home needed to be evacuated for safety reasons, but they are okay.

Fresno Street was closed between Ashlan Ave. and Dakota St. while fire crews cleared the scene.
