
DELANO, CA (KMJ) — First Lady Dr. Jill Biden visited Delano on Wednesday, March 31.
First Lady Dr. Jill Biden arrived at Meadows Field Airport in Bakersfield.
She was also joined by Governor Gavin Newsom, Rep. Jim Costa, Senator Melissa Hurtado (D-Sanger), and Senator Anna Caballero (D-Salinas).

The First Lady will participate in a Day of Action with the Cesar Chavez Foundation, United Farm Workers, UFW Foundation, Kern County Latino COVID-19 Task Force, Kern County, and Kern Medical Center.
That site is now a National Historic Landmark, preserving the farm workers’ movement.

It also serves as the headquarters for United Farm Workers of America.

FOX 26 reporter Marie Edinger said Julie Rodriguez, the Director of the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs traveling with FLOTUS, is the granddaughter of Cesar Chavez.
