(KMJ) – The Fresno Police Department says tips made to Valley Crime Stoppers helped investigators nab a commercial robbery suspect.

Around 12:30 a.m. December 3rd, Investigator say 32-year old Gabriel Guzman walked into the Johnny Quick at Spruce and Herndon in the Northwestern part of the city and acted like he had a gun in his pocket.  He demanded money from the cash register and then fled the scene on foot.

Following that hold up, Fresno Police released surveillance video of the crime.  That prompted several phone tips to be made to Valley Crime Stoppers via 498-STOP.  And those helped identify Guzman as the suspect.

It turns out, he was already in the Fresno County Jail, held on an unrelated December 17th robbery.  Fresno Police add, following questioning by investigators, Guzman confessed to the Johnny Quick robbery.
