Search Crews Recover Body of Hiker on Mount Humphreys

(KMJ) – The Fresno County Search and Rescue team, with help from the California Air National Guard, recovers the body of a hike who fell to his death while climbing Mount Humphreys.

The Sheriff’s Office say 52 year old Paul Sheykhzadeh of Reno, Nevada died Sunday along the western slope of the mountain.   Its helicopter, Eagle One, was called in and located his body  a few hundred feet below its peak.

Monday, an Air Guard CH-47 Chinook Helicopter was brought into fly a recovery team to the site.  They eventually hoisted Sheykhzadeh’s body up to the helicopter.

In honor of Sheykhzadeh’s service to Washoe County (Nevada) Search and Rescue, his body was draped in an
American flag at the recovery site.
