(KMJ) – A tip given to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office sets off a month-long investigation into the distribution of online child pornography.

It lead to the Wednesday arrest of 18-year old  Britney Vasquez of Orosi.

Investigators say she created a fake social media account and then shared dozens of nude images of underage girls from the area. They add she did not make any profit off of these photos and is believed to have worked alone.

Vasquez is now charged with 20 counts of distributing child pornography and is being held on a $1,000,000 bail.

The report of her arrest was also followed by this reminder from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office:
Sharing sexually explicit or nude images of children under the age of 18 is a serious offense and will be treated as such.

The Sheriff’s office also encourages all parents to keep a close eye on their child’s activity on the internet.
