(KMJ) – Detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Sex Crimes Unit arrest a 32-year old Fresno man for rape and several other sexual assault charges.
Monday, the parents of a 12-year old girl contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report their daughter mission. She returned home on her own but then told her family she was raped by a man she met online.
Investigators say the young girl met Carmelo Vasquez via the social media apps “Snapchat” and “Meet Me.” He was arrested and charged with rape and other sexual assault charges. His bail is set at $195,000.
But the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office believes there is a possibility Vasquez has victimized others. Investigators now ask any other potential victims or those with additional information about Carmelo Vasquez that could help their investigation to contact Detective Justin Williamson at (559) 600-8216.
