SACRAMENTO, CA (KMJ) – The State of California has approved Tulare County’s request to lift coronavirus restrictions and progress further into Phase 2 of the state’s stay-at-home order.

Tulare County is permited to reopen hair salons, dine-in restaurants and in-store retail, and  shopping malls to reopen among other places with modifications to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The state determined Tulare County met California’s readiness criteria on Tuesday morning, and approved the request Wednesday.

Tulare County had showed a positive COVID-19 case rate higher than the maximum 8% allowed by the state of California over a two-week period.
