Fresno Bans Dining In at Local Restaurants

FRESNO (KMJ)  In light of the spreading COVID-19, the city of Fresno has taken another major step in cutting the odds of residents contracting the coronavirus.

City officials announced Tuesday the mandatory closure of all dining rooms.  If you’re hungry, your options are to drive-through, take out or have your food delivered.

City Manager Announces Update on Coronavirus State of Emergency

FRESNO, CA – Fresno City Manager Wilma Quan today signed an executive order updating the City of Fresno’s state of emergency regarding bars and restaurants.

In addition to the closure of all bars, nightclubs, breweries and lounges, the City of Fresno is limiting all local restaurants to food delivery and takeout, effective immediately, while maximizing social distancing for those who are inside their restaurants until further notice.

The Fresno Police Department and Code Enforcement will be enforcing the emergency order.  Violations shall be punishable as a misdemeanor upon conviction by a fine and possible imprisonment.  We ask that owners and managers of bars and restaurants work with the City to ensure compliance and reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.

Copies of the executive orders is attached and will be posted on the City of Fresno website, as well as the latest information on services and events, at www.fresno.gov.

Constituents are encouraged to visit www.cdc.gov to learn more about COVID-19 and follow the Fresno County Department of Public Health for regular updates.
