(KMJ) – Investigators with the Merced Police Department continue to search for this woman being who is being sought in multiple cases of fraud and theft.
Investigators say beginning in April 2019, Perlita Afanacio Ballester met a host of people at various locations around the city of Merced. She claimed that she had mystic powers and could bless any money or jewelry left with her overnight. She then promised to return the next day with double whatever was given to her. But, in all cases, the victims never saw her or their cash or belongings again.
Investigators say Ballester’s victims lost over $80,000 in cash and $30,000 in jewelry. But, her current whereabouts are unknown. That’s why Merced Police are asking anyone with information about her location or these crimes to phone into the Department’s tip line at: (209) 385-4725.
