Woman Enters Plea For DUI, Man Killed in Crosswalk, Say Sanger Police

SANGER, CA (KMJ) – A Sanger woman enters a plea Wednesday in connection with a deadly DUI.

Sanger Police said 71-year-old David Pinedo Sr. was hit and killed Friday night, Feb. 21, 2020.

Police say Pinedo was crossing in the crosswalk on Academy at 8th St. around 9:30 p.m. when he was hit by 44-year-old Vivian Lugo.

She was arrested on multiple charges related to driving while intoxicated, including vehicular manslaughter.

Lugo was in court Wednesday and entered a not guilty plea.

The Sanger Police Department said;

This horrible tragedy highlights the dangers of driving while under the influence of alcohol or any other intoxicants. Two families will now have to deal with the aftermath of one very bad decision. Please don’t drive under the influence.
