Arrests Made in Fresno Commercial Robbery Series

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Two suspects are arrested for a series of armed robberies in the City of Fresno.

On Friday, February 14, 2020, between the hours of 11:30 AM and 7:30 PM, three armed commercial robberies occurred within the City of Fresno.

The first incident was reported at the Valero Gas Station located at 7264 N. Blackstone.

At 11:33 AM, two unknown male suspects entered the business armed with handguns.

One of the males stood by the door while the other demanded cash from the store clerk.

The suspects fled with an unknown amount of money.

At 6:20 PM, the same two suspects robbed a Chevron at 7216 N. Blackstone, and about one hour later, the Evergreen Market at 2995 S. Elm Avenue.

During the last two robberies money was also stolen from the businesses.

Through physical and video evidence, detectives identified the two suspects involved in the robberies as Ernesto Tavarez,19, and Erick Alvarez, 24, both of Fresno.

On Saturday, February 22, 2020, both men were taken into custody without incident by members of the Street Violence Bureau Tactical Team.

Search warrants were served at their residences, where detectives located physical evidence related to all three robberies.

Two handguns were also recovered.
