MERCED. CA (KMJ) – A 7th grader in Merced has suffered serious head injuries when he was hit by car, while riding his bike to school.
Merced Police said it took place around 8:30 Thursday morning, at the intersection of Paulson and Yosemite Avenues, close to Cruickshank Middle School.
Officers say the driver made a right on a green light but did not see the student in the crosswalk and struck the boy.
The driver stayed on scene and was cooperating with police.
The Cruickshank middle school student was flown to Valley Children’s Hospital.
