FRESNO (KMJ) – The rituals of springing forward and falling back won’t be going away anytime soon.

San Jose Democrat Assemblyman Kansen Chu announced that he is making a two-year bill out of AB 7, which would make Daylight Saving Time permanent in California.

Chu introduced AB 7 after the successful passage of Proposition 7 by voters in 2018.

The ballot measure authorized the state legislature to switch the state to permanent daylight saving time, if California can get approval from the federal government.

President Donald Trump has tweeted that he supports the change.
