(KMJ) – A pursuit of a DUI suspect turns into a high-speed chase in Madera County.
Deputies say they spotted 52-year old Lucio Hernandez, Junior Tuesday afternoon but add he sped off after they tried to pull him over. That chase ended in a fiery crash at Avenue 18 and Knob Hill. According to witnesses, vehicle was driven by Hernandez was on fire before it crashed into a field. But that crash then sparked a grass fire that charred the nearby area.
Deputies then tracked down Hernandez a short time later and took him into custody. In addition to already having a warrant out for his arrest, he has now been booked on multiple felony charges.
