
FRESNO, CA (KMJ / KMPH – Sarah Roebuck) — A man who was seen in a disturbing video with two dogs covered in blood has been arrested.
Fresno Police say the man in the video, Avery McLemore, was arrested Thursday morning for dogfighting.
The video shows a man with two dogs, both covered in blood.
It appears the dogs are both on a leash.
The video, obtained by FOX 26, was taken in April outside of an old factory near Weber and Belmont in Fresno.

Sarah Vargas, the woman who captured the video told our news partner FOX 26 that she was driving by when she saw the man with the dogs and started recording the incident with her cell phone. In the video, it appears that one dog was gnawing at the other one.
“The dog that was being attacked, the smaller dog you could tell that it was so exhausted from being bitten. It would pull away and the guy kept pulling the dog’s leash forward to him,” said Vargas.
Fresno Police Lt. Mark Hudson says after investigating the videos, it was determined McLemore encouraged the dogs to fight.
When FPD officers found McLemore, the two dogs were with him.

Police searched the place McLemore was staying for any evidence of dog fighting, but no evidence was found.
Lt Hudson said the dogs were confiscated and taken to Central California SPCA to have their injuries treated.
It is not known what will happen to the dogs.
McLemore was booked into the Fresno County Jail at 2:35 a.m. Thursday.
