FPD Busts Suspected Serial Armed Robber

FRESNO, CA (KMJ)  Fresno Police have arrested a man they say is responsible for a series of recent armed robberies.

27 year old Daniel Franco was nabbed Friday while leaving his Northeast Fresno home.  He was armed with a handgun, according to police.

Investigators say the string of robberies began Christmas day 2018 when Franco allegedly held up a McDonalds on East Shaw.

The next day investigators say he robbed a Dollar Tree on East Ashlan.  The following day he allegedly went to a pharmacy on Marks Ave. and demanded Xanax.  Police say he managed to get away with about 3,000 tablets.  Then, on Jan. 13, Franco is suspected in a holdup of a liquor store on Blackstone.  He brandished a handgun in each of the robberies, according to police.

Franco was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail for the four armed robberies and for being a prior convicted felon in possession of a loaded firearm.
