Visalia Police Arrest Suspect Accused of Rock Attack

 

VISALIA, CA (KMJ) – Police arrest a suspect who’s accused of attacking two people in Visalia.

Around 2:00pm on December 24, Visalia Police officers responded to Ben Maddox and Houston, after a caller indicated the suspect was there.

Officers located Toribio Romo, and they say he was positively identified as the suspect.

The 34-year-old is accused of punching a woman then striking a man when he came to her defense.

On Saturday December 22, around 7:17 pm, officers responded to a local business for an assault report.

The couple was attacked by an unknown male for no apparent reason.

Police say the woman was punched and pushed, and when the man defended her, Romo came back with a rock and struck him.

Police say Romo was speaking erratically at the time.

Romo was booked Monday at Tulare County Pre-Trial for the charge of Assault with weapon.
